 I am a stay at home mother of four. All my children are each two years apart. So I stay pretty busy. One thing you need to do as a Mom is "Take time for yourself". Put the kids down for a nap or lock them in their room long enough for you to do your workout. I believe it is very important to workout especially being a mom. If I do not workout I feel bad about myself, I am more tired and more stressed. This takes a toll on me, my husband and my kids. I am sure you have heard the saying "If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy."   Having kids close together can take a toll on your body so I have taken a few extra precautions when I work out.

 Waist Trimmer Belt

1. After having children I have what is called Diastasis Recti (this is where your abdominal muscles split in two). Having this made me wander if I could do p90x and especially the ab ripper. I decided to do the P90x and ab ripper anyway but tried to take it easy until I felt more comfortable. The one thing I do recommend if you have this, is a waist trimmer belt. No matter what workout I am doing I always wearing the waist trimmer belt. It helps hold my abs together, gives me extra support for my back and it makes me sweat and you burn more fat. It is a great investment a fairly inexpensive. A must have for me.

As an extra precaution after having my last baby, before I was ready to start working out I started using the Slendertone Belt. Slendertone uses Electronic Muscle Stimulation (EMS) technology to create strong, deep, comfortable contractions in your muscles. It mimics the body's natural muscle movements; signals are sent between the pads, engaging the nerves that control your muscles and causing them to contract naturally.  I can't say I saw dramatic results but it did accomplish what I needed. It strengthened by ab muscles enough for me to feel comfortable doing ab exercises. 

 Skecher Shape Ups

2. After having children I am always concerned about getting a (mom butt) flat butt. For a little extra help in that area I use the Skecher Kintex shape upsI chose the Kinetix Response  Skecher shape ups after reading all the reviews as these seemed to be the best fit for doing my p90x or Insanity workouts.

 The Shape Ups have also been great for walking in my neighborhood. I push around a double stroller so going down hills puts a lot of pressure on my knees. But now wearing these shoes I can walk comfortably down the hills. I started using them with the Insanity workout and it has been great. During the stretches is challenging because it is harder to keep your balance but I would definitely recommend them for your workout. I can't say I am to thrilled about the look of them but I will have to get past the look. They are kind of expensive. In store they where $110 but I found them on endless.com for much cheaper. Shipping was free and I did not have to pay tax. Great deal!! I am even thinking about getting them for my kids and my husband. 

Resistance Bands

3. For those of us who can't do the push ups or pull ups I recommend using the resistance bands until you build up your strength. Also doing the push ups and pull ups puts a lot of pressure on your abs so you will want to make sure you have built up your strength and where the belly band.

Supplements 

4. Sometimes you just don't have enough energy. I take some natural supplements for health and more energy. I personally take and recommend Advocare MNS E. It is great for energy and also gives you your vitamins, omegas, and probiotics which are all important for health and losing weight.   If you are not into pills you can take an energy drink. I recommend Advocare Spark. I have done both and love both of them
